(25% SPLIT PER ORGANIZATION)

BOOK SYNOPSIS:

A reminder of how fast things can change, how important it is to spend time with the ones you love, and that the tiniest bit of effort, and taking time to think about others or to help for even one second, could literally change or save another living thing's life. Fresh into the world, these young squirrels have already seen a lot, without even seeing it! Two different situations with similar circumstances, one being that humans stepped in right on time, and brought these babies to the Northern Colorado Wildlife Center. From two different situations that would typically mean certain death, to becoming everything their parents had hoped they would, and literally gave their lives for. Instinct, and a little push, fueled by the compassion of a few goofy humans, allowed these young squirrels to fulfill their destiny, without ever being taught by their parents how to do so. They’ll never forget the kindness & warmth of the random group of tall, hairless, funny-smelling squirrels who couldn’t talk too good all the time, wrapped in fabric, once thought to be alien. It’s the last nest they knew, before having to independently brave the harsh realities of the wild that claimed many before them, including the boys’ mother. Now, it’s time. Go!

REASON FOR WRITING:

As a volunteer at the Northern Colorado Wildlife Center
and at the Rocky Mountain Raptor Program,
I got to see first-hand what it takes to keep a non-profit organization running, while still actually paying people!

Between the expenses of medical supplies,
equipment, rent, utilities, staff salary, feeding animals,
enclosure and facility maintenance,
educational and promotional materials,
plus merch for outreach events, to interface with the public
for the sake of making people understand, and hopefully care enough to make a donation or buy fundraising merch,
plus the vehicles, AND gas to get to these events...

I DECIDED I HAD TO DO SOMETHING TO CONTRIBIUTE,
to education, outreach, AND fundraising!
In doing so, MY PATH has revealed itself consequentially!
